Opening Theory Live at Control Club Bucharest
Underground βραδιά jazz rock
The Union of Composers and Musicologists from Romania (UCMR) and ISCM Romania organize the World New Music Days Festival, celebrating the 150th anniversary of sculptor Constantin Brâncuși. The theme, Columna Infinită (The Infinite Column), symbolizes novelty and rhythm. Opening Theory is a Bucharest-based trio merging progressive rock rhythms with nu-jazz sensibilities and electronic sounds. Inspired by chess openings, the group explores the balance between aggressive riffs and psychedelic harmonies. The trio consists of composer George-Ioan Păiș, jazz pianist Ștefan Stoianovici, and drummer Alex Mușat.
