Howard and founding bassist Sean Stewart, the duo of Jonnine Standish and Nigel Yang transitioned from lethargic noise toward a softer sound incorporating gothic country while maintaining their poetic gravitas. Their music explores the weight, beauty, surreal humor, and serendipity of the world, mapping themes of desire, intimacy, and spirituality. Their discography spans labels like Fire, Ghostly International, and their own N&J Blueberries.
