A meeting of three outstanding improvisational musicians who understand sound as an open territory. Guitar legend Fred Frith encounters Tim Hodgkinson, a comrade from the radical Henry Cow days, and Liz Allbee, a Berlin-based trumpeter and sound artist. This fully improvised trialogue represents a high-level intersection of veteran avant-garde and experimental improvisation. Opening the night is Lukraak, an Amsterdam-based duo playing 'post-silly music of crooked beauty.' Using alto saxophone, drums, flutes, and found objects, Marcus Wärnheim and Thomas Jaspers create intricate sonic mosaics along the edges of experimental jazz and neo-dadaism.
