Renowned saxophonist and musical omnivore Benjamin Herman performs a live set at Contra Amsterdam. With a career spanning over 35 years and more than 50 albums, Herman is one of the most prolific Dutch musicians of his generation. From leading the groove-oriented New Cool Collective to experimental punk jazz and lush seventies-inspired productions, his solo work covers a vast stylistic range. This performance follows the release of his latest album, ‘The Tokyo Sessions’. Herman is also known as a columnist, radio host, and frequent recipient of musical awards. Joining him on stage for this performance is a quartet featuring alto saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums.
