De Cello Yurt buiten op het terras van het Muziekgebouw is een begrip tijdens de Cello Biënnale Amsterdam. Verschillende festivalcellisten presenteren een intiem soloprogramma van circa 45 minuten. Het concept is een verrassing: bezoekers weten van tevoren niet welke cellist ze gaan horen of welk repertoire er wordt gespeeld. Van jazz en pop tot hedendaags en klassiek, alles is mogelijk in deze unieke setting. Hoewel de line-up per sessie een verrassing is, nemen aan het festival cellisten deel zoals Ivan Karizna, François Salque, Giovanni Gnocchi, Nicolas Altstaedt, Laura van der Heijden, Astrig Siranossian, Nesrine, Giovanni Sollima, Monika Leskovar en Victor Julien-Laferrière.
