I kind of have to give it up for any film that goes ‘you know what, bigfoot’s only the first level of crazy’. Like kudos to you 80s trash that dreamed big. And happy us for being the recipients of this weird melange of cabin in the woods, monster, zombie, alien, occult grindhouse offering with bonus George Kennedy in a yellow bucket hat. It’s one of those films where the first half is mostly spent watching goofy young people be vaguely annoying whilst you look forward them then getting picked off, but then it takes a turn and things go so off the rails in the second half that you forgive any of the more plodding moments that came before. And it’s all done on a low budget that it can’t quite achieve the cosmos aura its going for. which somehow makes it even better.
