They Onassied too close to the sun
Abrasive tone and hateable characters, Greece’s answer to Mad Max is somehow less gay than Fury Road and Furiosa even with a lead character that's ostensibly a queer woman, who engages in two long and explicit lesbian sex scenes. The moment the two queer women meet, one of them flirts by approaching the other and sensually rubbing a gun that's shoved into the front of her short shorts.The machismo is unbearable. The style is ugly and offputting. It's the woman that can Man best!! Manning means shooting guns shirtless with ear splitting music overlaid. This isn't feminism my dudes. Feminism isn't hitting a target better than the men. This is like Clare Denis's Beau Travail sans an iota of irony and critique. Staggering.There is a scene where the two women have a long boring sex scene and then ride around on a jetski (!?!?!) before stopping to pee standing up, giggling about the mess they've made. The film ultimately ends (SPOILER lol) with an uplifting shot of the lead riding into the sunset on her neon lit and diamond bedazzled jetski. what even is film This was made for straight men, not queer women. Even with the revelation this was made by a queer woman can't change that fact for me!!! Atrocious movie.
