Back in 2016, a little animated film about a twerking polar bear called "Norm of the North" was released. It was an abysmal film that instantly became regarded as one of the worst animated films ever made, a dishonor I completely agree with. I bring this up because "Gracie & Pedro: Pets to the Rescue" reminded me of it in every single way. To say this film is a disaster would be an insult to disasters. It is an absolute travesty. This is a film that doesn't even function correctly and is just an absolutely appalling watch from beginning to end resulting in one of the most miserable experiences I've ever had watching an animated film. The plot about a cat and a dog getting lost in LA and having to get to Salt Lake City isn't the boldest plot out there, but this film can't even tell a simple story like that correctly as this has one of the most nonsensical and badly strung-together plots ever. Scenes happen and then they end without the characters learning anything from it and it has no entertainment, no laughs, no joy, and no awe whatsoever. This is a film where the children who own the pets make a diss track towards the airline that lost them and somehow it goes viral. Yeah, it's that kind of film. It's also visually appalling with some of the worst animation I have ever seen in my life as well as characters that have nothing interesting about them and don't even talk or act like real people with a duo of two insufferable leads as well as a cast of useless supporting players. Topping it off is some horrendous voice acting and some horrendous songs and you have quite possibly an absolute disaster in every way and one of the worst animated films ever made. If you can't tell, I absolutely hated everything about this film. It's an appalling mess and an absolute chore to get through. If this doesn't go down as being the worst animated film of the 2020s, we are in for a long decade. I hope we can't get lower than this because as far as I'm concerned, this is a film that is incapable of being rescued.
