Μια Αμερικανίδα έφηβη, η Ρίμα, μεταφέρεται μέσα από ένα ταξίδι στο χρόνο στην Παλαιστίνη της δεκαετίας του 1930, όπου συναντά την προγιαγιά της, που φέρει το ίδιο όνομα. Καθώς προσπαθεί να βρει τον δρόμο της επιστροφής στο παρόν, έρχεται σε επαφή με τις ρίζες της σε μια πατρίδα που δεν είχε γνωρίσει ποτέ.

Had the distinct privilege of chatting with director Reem Jubran on her excellent short. We talked about Palestine’s rich history, a Palestine we rarely see on film and what she’d like to see more of. It’s a great conversation, she’s the real deal. اتمني من العرب حاملي الجنسيتين الي عايشين ب أوروبا و أمريكا ما يعملوش افلام عن فلسطين تاني ارجوكو.الفيلم انا حبيته و كرهته في نفس الوقت طريقه السرد سطحيه و ساذجه و مزيفه و مفيهاش اي احساس ذكرتني ب نوع من أنواع البرامج الوثائقيه الي بتتعرض ع ام بي سي 1 دي لي بيكون فيها شباب مصطنعين ببسافرو ويكتشفو اماكن جديده حوالين العالم، حوارات سيئه جدا ب أداءات تمثيليه مصطنعه و مبتذلة بطريقه تعصب.الفيلم جميل بصريا و كان معمول بطريقه طفوليه و حالمه يمكن عشان كدا بقول الفيلم انا حبيته و كرهته في نفس الوقت الطريقه كانت ممكن تكون احلا لو اهتمت بالحجات الي ذكرتها فوق دي.
Jubran shows us Palestine, but she also lets us feel it, remember it... There are many moments where I wish I learned about Palestine directly from my Teta before she passed…. Before the Naqba… I loved watching Palestinian women move through the frame as whole, radiant beings—laughing, defiant, alive.This is Palestine beyond headlines and torment: fruit heavy on the branch, hands that build and dance and refuse erasure. The short insists on a truth too often denied: we are more than what has been done to us. We are joy. We are home. We are stories that outlast occupation.This film is a promise: we will find happiness. We will be free. And we will tell our own stories, in our own voices.Our existence is not only resistance; it is a celebration.
A teenager frustrated with her present life accidentally travels through time to 1930s Palestine, where she encounters her own great-grandmother and begins to understand her heritage.
