Starting in the 1960s, he made strange, low-budget horror/roughies, and by the 1970s he'd transitioned into porn, most shot in the Las Vegas area, and using a wide variety of pseudonyms. He continued to direct adult films into the late 1980s before retiring. Steckler died in 2009 at the age of 70.
