Robert Milton Ernest Rauschenberg was an American artist.
He was an influential American artist known for his multidisciplinary approach, including painting, sculpture, and performance, whose work helped transition art from Abstract Expressionism to Pop Art.
He is most famous for his Combines, a series of works that incorporated everyday objects into painting, as well as his collaborations with choreographers and composers.
He was a key figure at Black Mountain College, where he developed many of the experimental techniques that defined his later career.
