Concert “To the Hands”
The Chœur de chambre de l’Île-de-France, directed by Jean-Sébastien Veysseyre, presents an artistic journey through musical memory. Accompanied by a string quintet, the program bridges the past and present. It features baroque cantatas by Buxtehude alongside Caroline Shaw’s contemporary response, “To the Hands.” The performance also includes Benjamin Britten’s English choral synthesis, Ola Gjeilo’s Renaissance-inspired medieval bestiary, and emotional works by Estonian composer Veljo Tormis reflecting on summer festivals and the call of home.
