STRUCTUCTURE unites four individuals, who each bring their own strengths and weaknesses, their own unique voice, and their own personality to the band, yet together they find an expression of their own idea of beautiful and meaningful music. Through their music, STRUCTUCTURE creates a journey that ebbs and flows, shifting between moments of intense energy and periods of contemplative silence. It is a journey that is guided by the skillful interplay of all four musicians, who interact with one another in a way that is at once controlled and impulsive, but always filled with trust. Challenging traditional structures and pushing the boundaries of rhythm and harmony, the band alters the roles of the individual instruments continuously, and even though they play with many layers, which exist simultaneously, there is no foreground, no background. They create an interlocked unit that may pulse with an unyielding energy, float gently and melodiously, or decay and show their fragility. Roger Kintopf's compositions are the backbone of the band's sound. They are precise, yet flexible, providing a foundation upon which the band can explore the possibilities of evolving their sound as a constantly moving entity.
