Adèle Viret
Adèle Viret is a cellist and improviser born in 1999. She follows an eclectic path, varying the place of the cello within multiple musical aesthetics. She studied classical cello from a very early age meanwhile she asserted herself into the world of improvised music, jazz and world music alongside artists such as Fabrizio Cassol, Magic Malik, B.C. Manjunath. Her curiosity pushes her to join and initiate projects mixing aesthetics and disciplines (dance, literature, theater). In 2019, she creates n'Être, a cello and dance duo, and joins the Medinea network, which brings together young artists from the Mediterranean basin. Following this, she created her own collective Mosaïc featuring Bulgarian, French, Portuguese and Tunisian musicians. She regularly performs internationally, notably in the Netherlands with singer Jawa Manla, in Belgium with the group Aka Moon and in Portugal with Zé Almeida's quartet and the group Apophenia. The year 2023 marked the start of her most personal projects, with the first concerts of her group Adèle Viret Quartet, named laureate of Jazz Migration and FoRTE grant the same year. In July 2024, Adèle Viret Quartet (selected by Radio France) is prizewinner of the Euroradio Jazz Competition.
