ALARM!

ALARM! a hardcore punk band from Stockholm, Sweden. After twenty-plus years of playing together in Victims Andy, Jon and Gareth reunited in early 2023 with the ambition of making some new noise. Jon switched from guitar to bass and the trio wrote a bunch of songs. About a year later they were joined by Jon’s childhood friend, Henrik. This would be the first time the two had played together since their legendary hardcore band OUTLAST embarked on a hiatus sometime around the late 90’s. The band released their debut 12”, comprising those early songs, during the summer of 2024, through DROPDEAD’s Armageddon label. Henrik’s vocals and Jon’s bass playing were the key ingredients in taking ALARM!’s sound away from these Swede’s well-known crust punk roots. The bass, both manic and melodic at the same time, pummeled riffs behind the wall of guitar and drums. Henrik’s piercing vocals, raw yet steeped in emotion, screamed of personal anguish and pissed off, political rage. Since then ALARM! have appeared on Quarantined Records “Greeting from Sweden Vol. 2” compilation, as well as releasing four new songs on their 2025 7” EP “Heavy on the Heart”, through the Svensk Hardcore Kultur label. At the end of 2025 they once again entered Studio Ryssviken with Linus Björklund to record 15 songs that will appear on various releases throughout 2026. The first to see the light of day is the band’s second 12”, “Failure By Design”.
