Asfodelos were formed in 2019 in Thessaloniki, Greece, born out of a shared desire to explore the darker and more atmospheric realms of extreme metal. Their sound is a blend of progressive death metal, infused with influences from various subgenres, combining technicality, melody, and a deep, brooding atmosphere. In 2023, they released their debut album, “Dark Bowels of Cosmic Oblivion”, a record that stood out for its intensity, complexity, and thematic depth. With their second album already in the works, Asfodelos continue to evolve their sound, experimenting with new ideas and compositions that promise to push their creative boundaries even further.
