J3PO
Julian Pollack (J3PO) is a Los Angeles based pianist & keyboardist. When he was 18 years old, having just moved to New York City from his native California hometown of Berkeley, he was featured on Piano Jazz, hosted by Marianne McPartland—the syndicated NPR show. Having spent over a decade in New York City, he honed his craft amongst some of the best musicians in the world. Julian (also known as “J3PO”) is known for his keyboard work and sound design, especially using analog synths, hardware FX pedals, and contemporary keyboards, in a style that often blurs the lines between jazz, experimental hip-hop, and modern electronic genres. He has toured extensively with legends Marcus Miller, Chris Botti, and is currently touring as a member of Terence Blanchard’s E-Collective. Julian has also performed/recorded with Herbie Hancock, Ravi Coltrane, David Sanborn, Santana, Talib Kweli, Ledisi, David Foster, Michael League, The Lesson GK, and many others. As a leader, Julian is currently touring internationally with his own trio, celebrating the release of his latest studio album Soul & Circuitry (Ropeadope 2025) as well as a live-in-studio EP Studio Live: Milano (Bridge & Water Productions 2026).
