Berhana
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Amain Berhane was raised in a community centered on his Ethiopian roots. From the matriarchs of his family to his community of friends, he grew up surrounded by reminders of the richness of his ancestry. This grounding forms the impetus of his sophomore album, titled Amén የዘላን ህልም (The Nomad’s Dream). An ambitious collection of songs with introspective dissections of self, the album is a portrait of self-acceptance and represents a leap forward in Berhana’s artistry since the 2019 release of HAN.
