Doc Martin
A high-energy, underground house artist.
Doc Martin is an American singer, songwriter, keyboardist, lawyer & activist. Born & raised in South Central, LA, in the historic Central Avenue Jazz District, Martin first began singing in church around the age of 7 and describes music as his first love. In 2017, he became lead singer of the band, Brownsuede where he recorded The One How to Do Dat & Fade Away, each of which has been covered in blogs such as VoyageLA, Youknowigotsoul.com, & Bong Mines Entertainment to name a few. The Brownsuede song “The One” made its major radio station debut on Real 92.3 in Los Angeles and 106.1 KMEL in the Bay Area. Both “The One” & “Fade Away” received support on the NACC Charts, landing in rotation at colleges across the US, peaking at #2 on R&B/Soul Charts at Appalachian State University, #8 at Old Dominion University and #13 at San Antonio College. To date, the Brownsuede EP has over 120,000 streams on Spotify and has been shared by artists such as Neyo, Eric Benet, Anthony Hamilton and DC Youngfly. Doc Martin’s solo projects will have a more mainstream R&B feel than the music he continues to make with Brownsuede. His upcoming single Obsession features an intro from R&B superstar Neyo, for example, who expressed interest in working with Martin to help expose him to a wider audience. Following in the footsteps of Paul Robeson, who himself was a singer, lawyer and activist, Martin is a Renaissance Man. There is no question that whatever he decides to do, he will do it well.
