Desert Friends
Desert Friends are a fast-rising independent neo-psychedelic project rooted in surf and desert textures, based in Joshua Tree, California. Since the release of their debut album Lost Palms Oasis (2024), they’ve performed across Southern California, including shows at Gold-Diggers, Townhouse Venice, Joshua Tree Music Festival, and Pappy & Harriet’s. Following the release of singles “Cerulean Dreams” and “A Sea Of Orange,” the band unveiled their collaborative Summerland EP with Katzroar. Blending the lineage of Khruangbin, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and Glass Beams, Desert Friends craft a cinematic sound that fuses surf, Middle Eastern, and spaghetti western textures into hypnotic, groove-driven soundscapes. Founded by Antrom Alexander (Joshua Tree) and Lucas Penner (Vancouver), alongside Cody Rhodes on drums and percussion, the project brings together distinct musical voices shaped by a shared love of atmosphere, melody, and the Mojave Desert.
