The Rust Belt
THE RUST BELT was formed October 2020 by Michael Bilinski (PAGAN) and Vex X (STARSKREAM). The duo quickly recruited vocalist Ryan Whyte Maloney, a finalist from the sixth season of the hit NBC series THE VOICE. Their first song, TIME, debuted on THE WILL KEENAN TRANSMISSION (WCFA 101.5 FM) the following month. While recording the self titled debut album, guitarist Bill Lloyd (EDIT/ERASE) was added to the mix. With traditional touring not being an option, the band focused on creating cinematic videos that have screened in festivals around the world, winning numerous awards. They have been covered by MARKET WATCH, THE HOLLYWOOD MAGAZINE and SPIN. Ryan passed away in January 2025. The band decided to carry paying tribute to Ryan's work while evolving their sound. THE RUST BELT is partnered with UK based label THE GENEPOOL to distribute their music via VIRGIN / UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP.
