Wasim Arslan

Wasim Arslan is a singer and songwriter from Aleppo in Syria, currently based in The Netherlands. His captivating voice is known for reaching people’s hearts. Wasim has experienced both the light and the dark side of life. His poetry and melodies speak of these two forces and the search for freedom in between, spreading a message of unity. With strikingly powerful poetic lyrics and sound, he finds a way to speak about passion against fear, unity against separation, and liberation against injustice and oppression. Wasim’s music is diverse, ranging from ballads to dance music, acoustic, electronic, traditional and folk music, working together with musicians from different cultures. Yet Wasim’s sound is always recognizable as timeless, bridging between old and new, Arabic and international, characterized by his use of vocal ornamentation that tells stories full of emotion.
