Pierre de Gaillande is a Paris-born, New-York based composer, producer, multi-instumentalist and podcaster. De Gaillande composes and plays guitar, trumpet, and bass in New York bands Melomane, Body Kite, Open Kimono, and Bad Reputation. He recently produced and performed on a collaboration album called Working Batterie with legendary bassist Mike Watt, featuring Nels Cline, Georgia Hubley, Tony Scalzo, Robert Walter and others. Pierre also hosts the podcast “Pierre Pressure” in which he interviews well-known musicians about music and politics. In Bad Reputation, Pierre translates and performs the songs of iconic French singer Georges Brassens in English. His group Body Kite is a fully improvisational space-rock experience in which music is composed and performed live, often to accompanying visuals. His solo project Open Kimono is an outlet for de Gaillande's ongoing songwriting and producing catalog. De Gaillande's groups tour Europe and the U.S.A. regularly., and his music has appeared in countless film and TV soundtracks.
