Damian Nueva

Damián Nueva is a Cuban double bass player, composer, and actor based in Paris. Coming from a family of renowned musicians such as Xiomara Alfaro and Roberto Fonseca, Damián had a fortunate childhood growing up in a musical environment in which he listened to a wide variety of genres ranging from classical to Afro-Cuban music. In 2020 he put himself in the shoes of Jude, one of the protagonists of "The Eddy" (TV Show), directed by Damien Chazelle, winner of an Oscar for "La La Land". This TV Show was distributed by the Netflix digital platform. “The Eddy” featured 6-time Grammy winner Glenn Ballard as composer and was acclaimed by critics who highlighted the careful treatment of all the music and the fact that it was performed live by professional musicians. In “The Eddy”, Damián Nueva combines his musical work with his role as an actor playing one of the members of the main band. “Toda la gente”, from the Orisun album, is a song composed and performed by Damián Nueva that is part of the chapter where they present Jude's story. The Soundtrack was nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media.
