Adir Jan
A queer folk artist.

Adir Jan – best described as Cosmopolitan Kurdesque Music – blends Western Asian sounds with progressive pop, rock, and psychedelic harmonies to create a world where tradition meets modernity. Praised by Songlines as “a hugely enjoyable mix of styles where everyone dances together deliriously, proclaiming universal love,” the Berlin-based singer-songwriter crafts playful yet deeply emotional songs that explore queer love, resistance, mourning, and joy across languages like Zaza, Kurmancî Kurdish, Turkish, and German. Named one of the Top 20 Indie Artists of Middle Eastern Music and hailed by VICE as “the new face of Kurdish art rock,” Adir Jan’s albums Leyla and Al Mast (Trikont Records) solidify his reputation as a bridge-builder bard whose music celebrates universal love and transcultural freedom. www.adirjan.com
