Formed in 1978 in the San Francisco Bay Area by guitarist and songwriter Mark Biedermann, Blind Illusion is a pioneering progressive thrash metal band known for their complex compositions and technical musicianship. Their acclaimed 1988 debut album, The Sane Asylum, featured guest contributions from future Primus members Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde, cementing their status in the underground metal scene. Through decades of evolution, the band continues to preserve its distinctive blend of thrash aggression and progressive arrangement.
