Derek Adam

Derek Adam fuses guitar-driven rock with hook-filled, anthemic vocals to craft songs that tell his story. Hailing from a small town in Upstate New York, Derek was immersed in music from an early age. Picking up the guitar at 10, he quickly began playing along to his favorite tracks. He later attended the Crane School of Music, further developing his craft. As a working musician, Derek had the privilege of collaborating with Grammy winner James “Jimmy T” Meslin—renowned for his work with Dream Theater—on his debut EP, Silver Lining. This was a major moment in his career, as Dream Theater’s John Petrucci has long been one of his biggest influences. Jimmy’s production can be felt throughout Silver Lining, which features high-energy, guitar-driven tracks like the standout single “The Circle,” a song that showcases Derek’s classic rock roots. Derek’s follow-up project leaned into a more mainstream sound, highlighting his versatility as a songwriter. Collaborating with Kyle Berry (of Luke Bryan’s band) and Richie Cannata (of the Billy Joel band) at Cove City Sound Studios, he crafted powerful, radio-ready tracks—most notably the emotional ballad The Road I Know. Most recently, Derek has returned to his harder rock roots with his new release Dreams. Teaming up with the acclaimed production team at Westfall Recording Company, he’s injected a fresh edge and modern perspective into his sound, delivering a bold evolution of his signature hard rock style.
