“A combination of cinematic ambition, post-punk intensity and emotionally resonant storytelling”: Rotate Magazine Feral Family channel a dark musical energy through emotionally raw lyricism. Critically acclaimed for their expansive soundscapes and stadium-sized, post-punk intensity, the Yorkshire trio have drawn comparisons to early Muse and Bloc Party, as well as The Cult and Sisters of Mercy. 2026 has already seen the band compete in Kerrang! Radio’s ‘The Deal’ for a chance to play Download Festival, as well as place in the Top 5 of a nationwide competition to support Only The Poets at Brixton Academy. Such growing recognition suggests they won’t remain underdogs for long. Radio support from BBC Introducing, Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music), and John Kennedy (Radio X) has helped bring the band to wider attention. Their music has featured on The Independent’s “Now Hear This” playlist and E4’s Made in Chelsea, and has received airplay on iconic US station KEXP. They have also been nominated twice consecutively for Radio Wigwam’s Indie Artist of the Year, while their previous release, The River, was named IndieXL’s Single of the Week. The Other Side magazine sums up Feral Family perfectly as “possessing a unique ability to merge the personal and the epic, the introspective and the arena-ready.
Feral Family plays a blend of post-punk, alternative rock, and gothic rock, characterized by cinematic soundscapes and intense, emotionally resonant storytelling. Their debut album is 'Without Motion'.
