An underground, nostalgic vocal jazz artist.
Frida Ruiz-Berman is a young, upcoming New York City-based jazz vocalist and actress from Houston, Texas. Moving from Salt Lake City to Lisbon to Houston throughout her childhood, Frida developed a marked passion for the performing arts from a young age. She attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas, where she received exceptional theatre training, attending daily acting and musical theatre classes with industry professionals, and developed a knack for vocal jazz under the guidance of department head Warren Sneed. After moving to New York City in 2024, Frida began immersing herself in the city's jazz scene, quickly making a reputation for herself as a young and promising vocalist. In the fall of 2025, Frida attended the Tribeca Jazz Institute, studying with professionals such as Lucy Yeghiazaryan, Michael Kanan, Paul Sikievie, Greg Ruggiero, Maucha Adnet, and Chris Byars. Freshly coming out of the program, Frida has begun slowly working her way further into the scene and developing her craft. Praised for her classic and soulful renditions of jazz standards, Frida continuously morphs what she learns in acting class with her understanding of jazz, creating present yet refined interpretations.
Frida Ruiz-Berman performs classic vocal jazz standards with a soulful and expressive approach rooted in the New York jazz scene.
