Fuzzy Heart

Wordy indie rock from London. FFO Weakerthans, The Hold Steady etc. After being made redundant at the tail end of the pandemic, Rob Hollamby did what any navel-gazing thirtysomething might. He wrote a bunch of songs about the futility of work, the power of friendship, and partying a little too hard as a result of each. Those songs became Legendary Parties, an EP recorded largely solo in 2022 at The Bookhouse, South London, with Hollamby's Modern Rituals bandmate Tom Hill. It was supposed to end there – a passion project recorded for little more than posterity. But with the winding down of Modern Rituals, and spurred by response from Hill and others, Rob enlisted Tom Costerton-Davis (guitar), Nick Wells (drums, ex-The New Tusk) and Henry Langston (bass, also of Big Hug) to thrash things out in the practice room. 2025 saw the band writing and recording their debut full-length One More Hit - out 30 October 2026 on Wells' tape label, Hanger Records. The album covers, amongst other things, the chasing of diminishing highs, childlike amazement at the endurance of love, and the redemptive power of the UK's DIY music community. It's an ethos summed up in closing song 'Loud Guitars Forever', which asks 'should I really still be doing this (writing songs, booking shows, all the rest of it) in my late 30s?' The answer, of course, is a defiant, ecstatic 'yes'. One More Hit out 30/10/26 on Hanger Records. First single 'The High & the Supply' out now.
