An underground jazz artist.
Gábor Szunyogh is a Budapest-based pianist and keyboardist whose music moves freely between jazz, blues, progressive rock, psychedelia and world music. His compositions blend acoustic piano and Rhodes with improvisation, strong melodies and cinematic, sometimes dreamlike soundscapes. Alongside his work as keyboardist of the jazz duo Weekend Vikings, his solo project explores a more personal musical universe — intimate at times, playful or experimental at others, without feeling bound by genre. His latest solo album, BEND, brings together 14 instrumental pieces from this evolving body of work: small musical worlds shaped by piano, electric keys, improvisation and an enduring curiosity for where a melody can lead.
Gábor Szunyogh plays contemporary instrumental jazz and cinematic piano music that incorporates elements of progressive rock, blues, and classical influences.
Gábor Szunyogh is based in Budapest, Hungary.
