Lithuanian underground darlings for almost four decades IVTKYGYG is a unique example of tailoring rough, provocative punk ethics into a spaced-out, psychedelic hippie aesthetic with the competence of professional jazz musicians and creating joyful music asylum for the audience sing-along pleasure. "Ir Visa Tai Kas Yra Gražu Yra Gražu" (And All What Is Beautiful is Beautiful) or IVTKYGYG initially formed as a psychedelic art-punk project by notable Lithuanian underground figures – painter and rubab-playing guitarist Artūras 'Slipas' Šlipavičius and eccentric experimental filmmaker Artūras 'Baras' Barysas in 1987. Popularly known as “Gražuoliai" (The Handsome Ones) were appreciated by everyone starting with punks, who turned IVTKYGYG song "Šunparkis" into Lithuanian punk anthem, to hi-brow jazz afficionados and artistic bohemia. After Baras death in 2005, it took a while to refocus. Luckily, the bassist Gediminas Simniškis’ old mate from 70-ies proto-punk band “Mind's Disorder”, the vocalist and collector of rare instruments Arvydas 'Makys' Makauskas finally joined as a new spokesperson and frontman of the group. With the addition of a new drummer, permanent horn section and a percussionist to the line-up, IVTKYGYG has become a well-oiled funky rock/rubab rock engine, whilst still eager to perform on their home-made instruments or freak-out around the buzz of 4 antiquated huge barrel type Soviet washing machines.
