Jammaroots

Maria Perdiki aka Jammaroots, from Athens, is a multifaceted artist: a reggae/soul singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & reggae/dub selector delivering live vocals, with a long-standing presence in the Greek music scene. Although she has explored various musical styles, reggae is the one that ultimately won her over. In November 2010, she formed her own band, with which she continues to perform to this day under the name “Jammaroots (full band).” It was the first reggae band on the Athenian scene featuring female lead vocals, where she composes and sings. She has performed at numerous music venues and festivals throughout Greece and abroad & shared the stage with legendary names such as:
“The Wailers,” “Horace Andy,” “ Alborosie,” “Earl ‘China’ Smith,” “Junior Dread,”
as well as other artists like the “Souljazz Orchestra.” Jammaroots has an extensive list of studio collabs. with artists & producers from the Greek and international music scene such as: Mountaindub, Ste & Studio 10, Palov & A. Angelides, Timewarp Inc., Pablo Raster (IT), Vlastur, Blend Mishkin feat. Roots Evolution, D’AL Senio, among others. She has also studio collaboration as a bass player & performs as a drummer too. In June 2023, she released her self-titled album Jammaroots. The album features original material as well as a reimagined, vocal mash-up version of “Mad About You” by Hooverphonic.
