Javier Madrazo

Javier Madrazo is an Argentine guitarist, composer, and arranger based in New York City. His music is rooted in the jazz tradition, shaped by the rhythmic language of Latin America and the melodic sensibility of contemporary improvisation. A graduate of Queens College with a Master's in Jazz Performance, Javier was the first Latin American student to receive the ASCAP Louis Armstrong Award for composition and arranging. He is an O-1B approved artist (extraordinary ability in the arts) and has released two critically acclaimed albums of original music: Interior (2021) and Caminos (2022). Javier has performed at renowned venues including Jazz Forum's summer series, Bebop Club and Thelonious Club in Buenos Aires. He has shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Winard Harper, Joe Martin, Anthony Wonsey, Mariano Loiacono and David Berkman. With over 60 unreleased original compositions and a growing body of arrangements of jazz standards, Javier's music blends straight‑ahead jazz, bossa nova, Latin rhythms, and modern groove. He leads his own ensembles and is an active performer in the New York jazz scene.
