Jim Stubblefield

American guitarist Jim Stubblefield’s music is an amalgamation of various musical genres including Worldbeat, Latin Rock, Chillout Lounge and Classical Crossover. A founding member of the Billboard charting world-fusion group Incendio, Stubblefield has also released his own music since the mid 1990s. “My solo career is a counter-balance to Incendio. My singles and albums have been fairly diverse. I stated my mission with the title of 'Guitarra Exotica' in 2007 because I wanted my guitar to sound exotic, but not tied necessarily to one style or culture. My solo recordings are my personal vision, generally experimenting within the world-fusion genre, but not always strictly Latin. I take a little more of a cinematic approach on some pieces. Groups like Led Zeppelin demonstrated to me that it’s okay to have some pretty diverse music on each album.” Stubblefield has also worked and recorded with Ardeshir Farah (of Strunz & Farah), Eric Hansen, Dan Sistos, Stephen Duros (of Ottmar Liebert's early 2000's era live band), Ben Woods, Luis Villegas, David Correa, Mark Barnwell and Guitarra Azul. Stubblefield's music can be heard on syndicated radio shows such as “Echoes” and “PRI’s The World” on NPR. His music has also been used on programs on The History Channel, Netflix, Nickelodeon, A&E, Peloton and the 411 skateboarding videos. Stubblefield’s other projects include Stubblefield & Hansen, String Odyssey and Jim Stubblefield Group.
