Minus Hero is a DIY alternative punk rock band formed in 2019, currently based between Rome and Amsterdam. Their sound combines melodic vocal lines with a raw instrumental backbone, driven by heavy fuzz and gritty guitars. Rooted in early ’90s punk and alternative rock, they draw inspiration from bands like Dinosaur Jr., Hüsker Dü, Samiam, Sonic Youth, and Jawbreaker, while developing their own distinct identity over time Over the years, Minus Hero have released four EPs in collaboration with independent labels across Italy (Flamingo Records), the UK (Cat’s Claw Records), the USA (Punk Rock Radar), and the Netherlands (Shield Recordings and White Russian Records). Their third EP, “From Down to Dawn” (2023), was featured in Maximum Rocknroll’s Top 10 of the year.
