Team Talk Records are proud to announce the release of "Common Blues", the summery debut single from the new London duo Modern People. "Common Blues" is the meeting of two very different minds, instrumentalist and producer Christian Pinchbeck of London alt-R&B band, Girlhood – who found praise last year for their s/t debut album from Stereogum, BBC 6 Music, Radio 1, Bandcamp Daily, The Line of Best Fit, Loud & Quiet, Clash and more – and Lewis Cardinal, a fresh new singer-songwriter from Cardiff. Lewis was stuck in a rut producing his own music and through friends of friends met Christian and they decided to experiment with writing together. The idea was that they would approach collaborating with no boundaries and no genre restrictions. The result is something bursting with celebratory energy about the power of music and the glory in the craft of making it.
