Mondo Cozmo is the nom de plume of Philadelphia-born singer-songwriter Josh Ostrander. After relocating from Los Angeles to California’s Napa Valley, Ostrander found unexpected inspiration in his past when Amazon’s Reacher featured his 2016 song “Shine” as the closing track of its third season. The song surged to #1 on Shazam in the US and UK and #11 globally for three consecutive weeks, reigniting Ostrander’s creative spark and setting the stage for Sweet Forever, Mondo Cozmo’s fifth studio album, arriving November 2026. Blending expansive soundscapes, warm analog textures and a distinctly throwback rock & roll spirit, Sweet Forever draws on the swagger, soul and lived-in energy of classic ’70s rock while remaining unmistakably Mondo Cozmo. Written during an intense two-week creative stretch, the album explores love, loss, forgiveness, redemption and the complicated search for peace, moving between intimate reflection and soaring, anthemic release. The album features members of Philadelphia’s The Cobbs, longtime friends who helped shape its raw, powerful sound, alongside guest appearances from My Morning Jacket’s Jim James on “Wild Roses” and Langhorne Slim on “Alabama.” Equal parts vintage rock & roll, modern alternative and timeless Americana, Sweet Forever is a deeply personal record about holding on, letting go and finding something beautiful in the space between the two.
Mondo Cozmo plays cinematic alternative rock and anthemic Americana infused with throwback 1970s rock and roll influences.
Mondo Cozmo is best known for the breakout hit single Shine as well as tracks from studio albums like Plastic Soul and Sweet Forever.
