Pacha Mamma

Pacha Mamma was a dynamic roots-rock collective hailing from the shores of Byron Bay, Australia. Fronted by the singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Micka Scene, the band fused rock, soul, ska, reggae, and funk into a vibrant tapestry of sound. Micka's distinctive slide guitar riffs, compelling songwriting, and soulful vocals were the heartbeat of the group, captivating audiences. The ensemble featured a lineup of accomplished musicians: Grant Gerathy on drums, known for his work with the John Butler Trio, Liam "Rasta" Dorney on trumpet and backing vocals, bringing his flair from A French Butler Called Smith, Luke Ferguson on bass guitar and backing vocals, a groove stylist with a rich musical background. Pacha Mamma's energetic performances and eclectic sound earned them a loyal following. They graced stages at major festivals in Australia and Canada, and their music resonated at Quiksilver Pro surf competitions worldwide. Their international tours spanned Canada, France, and Spain, showcasing their global appeal. In 2012, they released their debut album, Piece Together Peace, produced by ARIA Award-winning producer Steve James and Grammy-winning engineer Don Murnaghan. Though Pacha Mamma disbanded in 2018, their legacy endures through their recordings and frontman Micka Scene continues to carry the legacy forward with music that is daring, authentic, and never predictable.
