Steven Bamidele is a Nigerian-born, London-based singer, songwriter, musician and producer. Citing the influences of contemporary creators Frank Ocean, Tyler the Creator, Solange, Kendrick Lamar and Childish Gambino, Steven puts social commentary and artistic narratives at the forefront of his music to create a forward-thinking soulful sound. His recent LP ‘THE CRASH!’ was written against the backdrop of an ever-changing world, combining indie-soul and jazz, acoustic and electronic textures, along with daydream-esque storytelling. He has received support from the likes of Blues Project, Somewhere Soul, BBC Radio 3, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Worldwide FM, Clash Magazine, Wordplay and Fusicology, alongside extensive playlisting from Jazz FM, FIP Radio France and KCRW. His stage presence and love for performing live have led him to headline Brighton Dome Studio, Prince Albert, Jazz re:freshed, Workman’s Club, Pizza Express Live Soho and The Gallimaufry. Steven has supported renowned artists Alice Russell, Sly5thAve, Hot 8 Brass Band, Marlon Craft, Brand New Heavies and Ebi Soda, while making festival appearances at SXSW Austin, We Out Here, Love Supreme, Shambala, The Great Escape, and Brick Lane Jazz.
