The Avonden is a Dutch indie band founded by musician and visual artist Marc van der Holst. Taking their name from Gerard Reve's classic novel, the group crafts melancholic nederpop and acoustic indie miniatures characterized by wry storytelling and DIY warmth. Their releases on Subroutine Records capture a distinctively literary and intimate corner of the Netherlands' alternative scene.
