Create! The output would be called, THE BLACKLOVESMITHS! A witty, female singer/songwriter from the suburbs of Connecticut meets a classically trained musician from the city of Paterson, New Jersey. The musician grows up with a strong church doctrine and the suburbanite-girl is dodging drug abuse and domestic violence most her life. Irony. The result of this odd couple is a refreshing take on traditional Gospel Music. Together, P. Smith, Jr. and Joanna Jo Smith soundtrack the most authentic relationship, between The Creator and The Churchless Believers they represent. With each song released, they hope to "marry" high-level lyricality with (what P calls) edgy soulful/jazz soundscapes. THE BLACKLOVESMITH goal is to capture moments for their supporters, The LoveSmiths, to be able to see what they hear from their music. It's called Visual-Audio. A genre all it's own; that strives to help the listener escape to a solemn place, where God wears sweatpants and is approachable for real talk. They both have seen too much in life, to regurgitate a testimony people may have heard before. Instead, BLS encourages transparency, through and through.
