The Solomon Douglas Swingtet is a dynamic large-ensemble jazz group, founded in 2002 by Solomon Douglas, dedicated to performing authentic swinging instrumental jazz. Their repertoire spans from 1920s hot jazz to 1950s big-band swing, featuring both original arrangements and faithful transcriptions of classic recordings. Douglas's background as a renowned Lindy Hop and Blues dance instructor deeply informs the band's ability to play music that genuinely swings in an old-school, joyful way.
