Blending minimalist electronic rhythms from a Linn drum with spoken-word poetry, his work on albums like Luchtkastelen left a lasting mark on Dutch post-punk and new wave. He was also widely known as the drummer for Mecano and a bouncer at the legendary Paradiso club.
