TRIO ELPO is a modern-day Latvian jazz trio consisting of Edgars Cīrulis (piano), Jānis Rubiks (double bass) and Rūdolfs Dankfelds (drums), based in Riga, Latvia. The trio's sound is characterized by expansive, meditative musical landscapes, strong and dynamic rhythmic structures, and energetic, captivating interplay between the musicians. They combine the best traditions of Western chamber music, creative improvised music, jazz, and rock. Listeners describe it as cinematic, contemplative, energizing, sensual, and powerful. The trio has collaborated three times with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra; performed with internationally recognized soloists such as John Ruocco, Julie Silvera, and Rokas Zubovas; and has toured abroad in Germany, Lithuania, and Norway. They have also given several concerts with local stars like Beate Zviedre, Toms Rudzinskis, Liene Skrebinska, Kristīne Cīrule, and others.
