An underground cold wave act.
Urge started as a collaboration between Adrien Broué and Simon Chaubard from the band Plebeian Grandstand. Alongside their activities in the underground extreme metal scene, they yearned to portray a melancholic yet less ominous reflection of their inner turmoil. With the reinforcement of drummer Hugo Dupuis (Las Aves, Rallye, Eddy de Pretto, KALIKA), bassist/producer Clement Libes (BRUIT ≤, M83, Kid Wise ) and guitarist Mathieu Félix (Orme), the band ventured into recording their inaugural album 'Here/After’, released on November 15, 2024, via Icy Cold Records. At the core of Urge lies a warning, like the primal cry of a generation facing a bleak future, refusing to succumb to a fate shaped by past blunders. 'Here/After' is envisioned as an anthem for survival, a search for redemption in the chaos we’re all living through. Each track feels like a flicker of light in the darkness, urging us to keep seeking beauty, meaning, and even tragedy amidst it all. It’s about that constant tension: hope versus desolation, radiance versus decay—the fight to redefine what comes next.
Urge plays darkwave and post-punk with strong cold wave and gothic rock influences, featured on their debut album 'Here/After' released via Icy Cold Records.
