An underground jazz fusion act.
Brooklyn band Valipala perform remarkable feats of hybridized soul, melding a vast range of genres to produce a distinct signature sound. Funk, R&B, math rock, and jazz constructs are weaved together in a tight compendium of sound in Valipala’s recorded output, with their live shows even more full of dynamic variation and creative spontaneity. Valipala’s sophomore EP, bubble, was released in February 2020 and included features from Braxton Cook and frequent Vulfpeck collaborator Richie Rodriguez. Valipala records entirely in the band's home studio in Ridgewood, Queens, just down the block from the Polish deli with the really good borscht.
Valipala plays an intricate blend of jazz fusion, funk, and progressive R&B rooted in the Brooklyn independent music scene.
