Sud Sound System is a legendary Italian dancehall reggae group from the Salento region of Puglia. Formed in the late 1980s, they are pioneers of the Italian raggamuffin scene, known for their unique blend of Jamaican rhythms with local Salentino dialect and traditional pizzica melodies. Their lyrics often tackle social issues, local politics, and southern Italian identity. With a career spanning over three decades, they remain one of the most influential acts in Italian underground music, consistently delivering high-energy live performances that bridge the gap between Mediterranean culture and Caribbean sounds.
