A raw, slow-burn ambient jazz night.
Zygmunta Modzelewskiego 59, 00-977 Warszawa
Commissioned for the opening night of Unsound, "WARSZAWA" revisits David Bowie and Brian Eno’s iconic collaboration inspired by the Polish folk song "Helokanie". Warsaw-based composer Piotr Kurek reworks the track in a new interpretation performed with vocalists from the Śląsk Song & Dance Ensemble, accompanied by visuals from prominent contemporary artist Wilhelm Sasnal. Opening the evening, Bendik Giske performs live with his saxophone, offering a first glimpse of his album on Smalltown Supersound. Giske blends gamelan, techno, and avant-garde jazz into a deeply physical and intimate soundscape.
