Russian pianist Alexandra Dovgan performs a program of Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninov. At just sixteen years old, Dovgan has already moved beyond the stage of musical competitions. The performance features Beethoven's immense Hammerklavier sonata alongside Chopin's Nocturnes and Scherzo, concluding with Rachmaninov's Piano Sonata No. 2, a work written in the same key as the Chopin sonata the composer so admired.
